Sun. Holidays. BBQs.
Everyone loves the summer. With longer days, sunny weather and an excuse to eat as much ice cream as we wish; what is there not to love?
Well, for some people, summer also brings along quite a few frustrating and annoying skin problems. The hot weather mixed with spending more time outside can leave a lot of woman with irritating and painful skin issues.
Clogged Pores
Clogged pores happen as a result of oil, dry skin cells, dirt and everyday debris from being out and about. Your skin is constantly battling sweat and pollution; but especially during the warmer months. You will start to notice an increased amount of breakouts on your body, from the face to your back and chest.
Folliculitis
Folliculitis is a bacterial infection that happens when hair follicles become inflamed. Whilst it isn’t a serious problem, it can be itchy and sore. It’s a common skin condition in the summer, due to the weather being warm. It’s especially common for people who don’t change out of their workout clothes after exercise.
Sunburn
Sunburn is one of the most widespread skin problems during the summer. Sunburn can happen to absolutely anyone, but definitely those who have sensitive and fair skin that doesn’t tan well. Too much sun exposure can lead to it literally burning your skin – leaving painful and uncomfortable red patches behind.
Acne
For people who suffer with acne, the summer can mean big problems for their skin. The warm weather causes increased sweating, which in return can mean increased acne on the face. The heat also means that more oil is being produced, which for people with acne, this often means even more frustrating breakouts.
Heat Rash
It’s easy for the skin to become irritable during the summer. A heat rash is a skin problem that occurs when dirt, dust and debris clogs the sweat ducts. This traps the perspiration inside; leading to itchy and sore rashes and bumps on the skin. For those who get a heat rash on their face, it can often be noticeable and therefore an embarrassing problem.
Dehydration
Your body isn’t the only thing that can suffer from your lack of hydration; your skin also suffers the consequences of dehydration. Sweating causes the skin to quickly lose hydration, leaving the skin dry and irritated. It can also mean that your skin is more prone to sunburn.
So; how can people enjoy summer when at risk of all of these common skin problems?
A fantastic way to beat the problems of summer and repair any damage still left by previous ones, is to treat yourself to a professional skin peel. Ideal for those with acne or sun damaged skin; a skin peel will soften and hydrate the skin.
